In the storm of overwhelming emotion,

I found myself adrift—

needing the quiet distance of solitude

to mend the fractured corners of my soul.

I poured boundless kindness into others,

Yet I forgot the grace owed to my own heart.

My story,

too,

deserves the tenderness of remembrance and honor.

You held me halfway,

Your investment is incomplete,

like a gardener who waters only part of a wilting garden.

I drew a line,

blocking the noise to reclaim my calm,

to stand on steady ground again—

unprepared for uncertain endings.

I refuse to lose myself once more to a love not fully given.
